Ulpan Akiva is Currently Closed, we have no date for it's reopening

Graduates and friends shalom,

Last week, we concluded the summer courses and the study year at the Ulpan.

Unfortunately, the numbers of students this summer were much less than in previous years, probably due to the global financial atmosphere. However, despite this, the courses were held as scheduled including intensive Hebrew studies, trips, lectures, theatre, Israeli folk dancing and singing – all of which throughout the years have been unique and an integral part of Ulpan Akiva.

As you are aware, the past years and particularly the last one have not been economically easy for the Ulpan. However we have continued with our mission of teaching the Hebrew and Arabic languages.

I take this opportunity to thank the Ulpan staff for their hard work and dedication: Orly, Ofer, Etti, Helen, Tom, Nicole, Sara, the Pedagogic Coordinator and the teachers.

The Ulpan's Board of Directors has decided to use the coming break to review the continuation of our activities during the financial crisis. I hope that there will be a solution to enable us to continue the blessed mission of such a unique and important institution as Ulpan Akiva.

In the meantime, we will have a break and try to gain strength and wait and see how things will turn out.

As we are entering the month of Elul – the last month in the Hebrew Calendar - I would like to wish you and your families a Happy New Year, a year of good health, a year of prosperity, success and personal fulfillment.

SHANA TOVA!

We thank all of you for supporting us throughout the 58 years since the Ulpan’s foundation and hope for a better future.

Please continue to be in contact with me.

With very best wishes.
